Old friends

We crossed paths

After a long time

Time has aged us

Strands of white hair

Sagging bodies

Wrinkles everywhere

We look almost identical

Yet time sets us apart

For him it has been a burdensome life

I had unburdened long back

We both talked of this and that

Only experiences set us apart

For the better parts it was bitter for one

And for one it was a content life

We caught up over cups of tea

Only to smile at beautiful memories we shared

Old friends for whom time had left its indelible mark

Young for those who could see the twinkle in their eyes
